Beautiful compact chair, features comfortable armrests. The chair has been restored and reupholstered in yellow tweed. These chairs were manufactured in the 60s in one of the largest and most influential furniture company in Czechoslovakia, Jitona Sobeslav. Many famous Czechoslovakian designers worked there. Jitona received a state award for work on the interiors of the Hotel Praha, (Jaroslav Paroubek, Arnošt Navrátil and Radko Černý cooperated together with Milan Rejchl) as well as for production of furniture for the reconstructed Mahen Theater in Brno in 1978. Probably the most prominent order of Jitona, in addition to the Hotel Praha, was the production of furniture according to the design of designer Zbyněk Hřivnáč for the government villa in Sezimovo Ústí (former summer residence of Eduard Beneš) and a complete new interior of the Czechoslovak embassy in Beijing (1985-1986). Aslo, furniture for the motel Stop in Prague (cooperation with Květoslav Přibyl) or so-called the Presidential apartments.
