1930 Jindrich Halabala Bentwood Armchair in Pale Green Velvet

SKU: AJH115

Price per chair. Two available.

An iconic pair of 1930s bentwood armchairs by renowned Czech designer Jindřich Halabala, showcasing one of the most recognisable silhouettes of early European modernism.

Defined by their sweeping, sculptural armrests, these chairs embody Halabala’s pioneering use of steam-bent wood—creating fluid, continuous lines that blur the boundary between structure and form. The elegant curvature gives the chairs a strong visual presence while maintaining a sense of lightness and balance.

The frames have been carefully restored, with the wood sanded and finished using specialist oils to enhance the natural grain and depth of tone. Newly upholstered in pale green velvet, the chairs offer a warm, contemporary contrast to the sculptural wooden form. The upholstery is a high-quality, easy-clean fabric compliant with UK FR standards.

Generous proportions and a slightly reclined back ensure a comfortable seating experience, making them as functional as they are visually striking.

Bespoke upholstery options are available—clients may choose from our curated fabric selection or supply their own material.
