An exceptionally rare H-282 armchair designed by the legendary Czech designer Jindřich Halabala in the 1930s. Produced by UP Závody, this model is celebrated for its dramatic flowing bentwood silhouette, seamlessly combining Art Deco elegance with the emerging principles of European modernism.
Unlike Halabala's more commonly encountered designs, the H-282 features generously sweeping arms that continue effortlessly into the rear frame, creating a striking sculptural profile from every angle. Its bold proportions and refined craftsmanship make it as much a statement piece as it is a comfortable lounge chair.
Each chair has undergone a meticulous restoration. The bent beech frame has been carefully stripped, sanded and finished with specialist hardwax oils to enhance the richness of the timber while preserving its beautiful grain. The upholstery has been completely renewed, including new webbing, foams and internal fillings, before being finished in a luxurious premium ivory bouclé that complements the warm honey tones of the wood.
The generously padded seat and reclining backrest provide outstanding comfort, making the H-282 equally suited to sophisticated living spaces, boutique hotels or carefully curated interiors.
Matching footstools can also be commissioned in coordinating upholstery.
