Mid Century Space Age Velvet Sofa from Paged, 1972
This extremely rare sofa created by the Polish company Paged in the 1972. The sofa was produced in cooperation with the Arab Republic of Egypt. The form of the objects is characterized by strong elements of the design ideas of the most eminent architects from the Mid-Century Modern era. The organic, round shape is reminiscent of the designs of Danish and Italian masters of the school of furniture creation. It has been fully restored and upholstered in golden quality velvet. The legs are in original condition, made of solid wood with brass ends. It was made in a limited number of copies and is underappreciated in the arts and crafts market. Paged Meble is a brand with furniture traditions dating back to 1881. It is one of the leading furniture manufacturers in Europe and one of the few in the world that produces bentwood furniture. In the 1960s and 1970s, the company commissioned the production of its furniture abroad, and today it has two factories in Poland. Thoughtful designs, carefully selected materials combined with production facilities and expert competences make furniture a synonym of quality in the industry.
