1960's Mid Century Lounger by Zenon Baczyk in Grey Tweed

1960's Mid Century Lounger by Zenon Baczyk in Grey Tweed

SKU: AK441

Price per chair. One available.

1960s lounge chairs designed by Zenon Bączyk, combining a restrained modernist silhouette with beautifully sculpted timber detailing.

The chairs feature elegant dark-stained wooden frames, with long, gently curved armrests and distinctive slatted backs. The low, reclined seating position and generously proportioned cushions create the relaxed comfort characteristic of the best mid-century lounge furniture.

The chairs have been fully restored and newly upholstered in a grey tweed, chosen to complement the warm brown tones of the frames. Subtle button detailing to the back cushions adds texture without distracting from the clean architectural form.

Bączyk was an important Polish furniture designer associated with the development of modern furniture during the post-war period. His work is increasingly appreciated by collectors of Eastern European mid-century design, particularly for its combination of functional construction, strong proportions and Scandinavian-influenced modernism.

A particularly attractive pair that would work equally well together in a living room or positioned separately as statement lounge chairs.
