Jiri Jiroutek U-460 Sideboard for Interier Praha, 1960s – Black, White & Yellow

Delivery in 5-7 Weeks.

A distinctive Model U-460 sideboard designed by Jiří Jiroutek for Interier Praha, dating from the 1960s.

Part of Jiroutek’s celebrated modular storage series, the U-460 combines clean Czechoslovak modernist design with a particularly bold graphic treatment. The warm wooden cabinet is contrasted by black and white drawer fronts with vivid yellow detailing, creating a playful yet highly architectural façade.

The sideboard offers a practical combination of drawers and cupboard storage. The moulded drawer interiors provide generous everyday storage, while the cabinet section opens to reveal a spacious interior with shelving. Raised on characteristic splayed wooden legs, the piece retains a light visual appearance despite its substantial storage capacity.

The rich grain and warm tone of the timber provide an attractive counterpoint to the strong geometric colours of the front, making this an especially striking example of Jiroutek’s work and an excellent statement piece for both mid-century and contemporary interiors.
