1970s Modular Lounge Sofa – Seven Modules with Corner Table, in Ivory Chenille

A fantastic and highly versatile seven-module lounge seating system, dating from the 1970s and beautifully restored with completely renewed upholstery in a soft ivory chenille.
 
The set consists of seven individual seating modules together with a low corner coffee/side table, allowing an exceptional number of configurations. It can be arranged as one impressive L-shaped corner sofa, separated into several smaller sofas and individual lounge chairs, or completely reconfigured to suit different rooms and occasions.
 
The contrast is particularly striking: warm, tactile ivory chenille against the strong, dark timber frames. The gently curved frame profiles soften the architectural, low-slung form and give the whole composition a distinctly sophisticated 1970s character.
 
One of the greatest advantages of modular furniture of this period is its flexibility. Rather than committing to one fixed sofa, the individual sections can move with the space — particularly useful for large open-plan interiors, reception areas, offices, hotels or homes where the layout changes over time.
 
The low corner table is an especially attractive element. Integrated into the arrangement, it breaks up the upholstery and provides a practical surface for drinks, books or lighting without requiring a separate coffee table in the centre of the seating area.
 
All cushions have been newly upholstered in premium ivory chenille, chosen for its subtle texture and understated neutral tone. The timber frames have also been cleaned and refreshed while retaining their vintage character.
 
Despite the substantial scale when assembled, the visual effect remains surprisingly light thanks to the open-backed construction, raised frames and separate modules.
