Cantilever Armchairs by Miroslav Navratil for UP Zavody, 1950s
Price is for the set of two chairs.
Delivery in 5-7 Weeks.
Designed by celebrated Czech designer Miroslav Navrátil for UP Závody in the 1950s, this rare high-back version of the cantilever armchair is a sculptural statement of post-war modernism. With flowing bentwood arms and a distinctive cantilever silhouette, these chairs offer both visual elegance and remarkable comfort.
These chairs feature beautifully curved bentwood frames that have been carefully restored and treated with specialist wood oils, enhancing the richness of the wood grain while preserving their structural integrity. The cantilever construction allows for a gentle flex and soft movement, echoing the Bauhaus influence that informed Navrátil’s designs.
Newly reupholstered seats in premium beige textile provide a soft, tactile surface that beautifully complements the sculptural frame.
Very rare set for collector and a timeless piece of European design history—equally suited to modern interiors or vintage-inspired spaces.
