Illum Wikkelso — Three-Seater Sofa for A. Mikael Laursen, Denmark, 1960s
A beautifully proportioned Danish modern three-seater designed by Illum Wikkelsø and manufactured by A. Mikael Laursen in Aarhus during the 1960s.
The sofa features a solid oak frame with bold, rounded legs and softly sculpted arm supports — a signature of Wikkelsø’s organic yet architectural approach to design. The visible construction highlights the craftsmanship and quality of the timber, while the generous cushions create a relaxed and inviting seating experience.
This example has been fully restored in our workshop.
The solid oak frame has been carefully cleaned and nourished to enhance its natural grain and warm tone. The sofa has been newly upholstered in premium green boucle, adding texture and depth while maintaining an authentic Scandinavian character. The combination of robust oak and soft tactile upholstery creates a perfect balance between structure and comfort — making this sofa both a statement piece and an everyday favourite.
