Kai Kristiansen / Nils Jonsson Bureau No. 63 for Tørring, Denmark, 1960
An elegant Danish teak bureau, model No. 63, attributed to Kai Kristiansen and Nils Jonsson for Tørring Møbelfabrik.
The refined design combines practical storage with the clean lines and careful craftsmanship associated with Danish modern furniture. The fall-front opens to form a generous writing surface, revealing a beautifully organised interior with small drawers, open compartments and document shelves. Below, three full-width drawers provide additional storage, each finished with distinctive sculpted recessed handles.
Raised on slender tapered legs, the bureau has a light architectural appearance despite offering substantial storage. Its warm teak grain, subtly angled sides and carefully shaped detailing make it equally suitable as a writing desk, compact home office or statement storage piece.
