Mario Bellini “Amanta” Armchair for C&B Italia, 1960s
Price per chair. Two available.
An iconic pair of “Amanta” armchairs designed by Mario Bellini for C&B Italia, dating from the late 1960s. The two chairs can be used individually or positioned together to create a compact two-seater sofa.
The Amanta is one of Bellini’s most recognisable early designs, combining a sculptural moulded shell with deep, generously padded cushions. Its low profile and modular concept perfectly capture the more relaxed, informal direction of Italian furniture design emerging at the end of the 1960s.
Both chairs have been newly upholstered in rich cognac corduroy, giving the design a warm, tactile character while emphasising its wonderfully generous proportions. The contrasting light shells and black spherical feet retain the unmistakable futuristic appearance of the original design.
Please note: the two fibreglass bases differ slightly in colour, with one appearing somewhat darker than the other, reflecting their age and individual patina.
