Yngve Ekström (1913–1988)
Yngve Ekström was one of the leading figures of Swedish modernism and co-founder of the furniture company Swedese. He is best known for designing the iconic "Lamino" chair, which remains a symbol of Scandinavian design to this day. Ekström's philosophy emphasized simplicity, comfort, and craftsmanship – qualities clearly reflected in the Kontiki model. His designs helped shape the international perception of Nordic design during the mid-20th century.
Troeds, based in the town of Bjärnum, Sweden, was one of the foremost producers of high-quality modern furniture during the 1950s and 1960s.
